A few new pieces for the Raku firing workshop tomorrow with @elpasoclayguild
I threw 2 on the wheel, stamped and altered a bit and handbuilt the heart and other crackled piece.

The sun face is a prevalent image in the Southwest. My mom collected sun faces with a few moons scattered in. Over 65 wall sculptures hung in our living room, so it has been a form that I am very familiar with.
I am interested in capturing the symbolic duality of the sun and moon. Almost like a yin-yang, contrasting each other as well as balancing. Trying to make a familiar idea in a new colorful way.
